Growing up on a local chicken farm taught Jason valuable lessons in working hard and being grateful for what he has. He believes that raising his family, enjoying the outdoor activities in B.C., and always reaching for his next running goal, help keep him feeling young and grounded.
Jason completed a degree in Kinesiology before deciding to enter nursing. At the time he was working as a support worker for adults with developmental disabilities – an experience which helped shape his concept of quality of life. He distinctly remembers supporting an individual during their hospitalization and recognizing an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life through meeting their healthcare needs.
Jason started his career as a Registered Nurse in acute Medicine at Surrey Memorial Hospital, where he worked for 15 years before coming to Ridge Meadow Hospital. His career has taken him from the bedside, to Patient Care Coordinator to Manager. He has enjoyed serving as Manager for a variety of departments in acute care and rehabilitation, as a clinical lead on a hospital expansion project, and as a Patient Access and Community Transitions (PACT) Manager, where he built partnerships in the community to improve patient flow from acute care to the next care location.
Jason joined Ridge Meadows Hospital in 2019 and now manages the team at Baillie House. He finds working in long-term care utilizes much of his previous work experience. He is very happy to be a part of the RMH team, and sees working together towards better health in our community as a great privilege.
