Fraser Health Medical Staff Recognition Program is for all FHA sites, and is a program sponsored by the VP Medicine portfolio. Recognition is seen as a key consideration that helps create a workplace where medical staff discover joy, agency, and appreciation.
The Medical Staff Engagement Champion Award recognizes a medical staff member who supports their team, encourages diverse perspectives, and prioritizes collective goals over personal agendas. Approachable and responsive, they are known for building strong partnerships and fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement across our systems of care.

Dr. Sandeep Bhachu
Dr. Sandeep Bhachu is recognized as this year’s Medical Staff Engagement Champion for his thoughtful leadership, steady presence, and unwavering commitment to our medical staff community. Over the past two years, Dr. Bhachu has led with both purpose and compassion. He
has continued to advocate tirelessly for Ridge Meadows Hospital at a regional level, ensuring that the needs of our site and community remain visible and valued, particularly following the Fraser Health announcement not to move forward with a new hospital for our community. His work supporting initiatives such as the same-day discharge project also reflect a practical and collaborative approach to improving care and strengthening how we function as a system.
Sandeep has been a consistent advocate for improving site infrastructure and technology to support recruitment and long-term sustainability, while also contributing his time to the RMH Foundation Board. The past two years have brought significant challenges, including periods of
loss and change within our community. Throughout this time, Dr. Bhachu has remained focused on supporting his colleagues, creating space for connection, and continuing to move important work forward.
We are pleased to recognize Dr. Sandeep Bhachu for his leadership, resilience, and ongoing contributions as a true Engagement Champion at Ridge Meadows Hospital.
Dr. Rajan Naidoo
We are proud to recognize Dr. Naidoo as this year’s recipient of the Fraser Health Engagement Champion Award for his outstanding dedication to collaboration, innovation, and team-based care.
Dr. Naidoo has been a driving force behind several key initiatives that have elevated patient care and strengthened interdisciplinary collaboration. He played a pivotal role in organizing and sustaining the Fraser Health multidisciplinary ILD Rounds and has taken on a leading role in delivering the Lung Cancer Screening Program launched through BCCA. From early planning to ongoing execution, his contributions have shaped these programs into impactful, patient-centered services.
Amid significant staffing challenges in the Radiology Department, Dr. Naidoo has remained a steadfast advocate for quality and consistency, helping maintain high standards in medical imaging while representing his department with integrity and resilience.
Colleagues describe Raj as approachable, curious, and deeply committed to shared goals. He brings enthusiasm to his work, invests in team priorities, and fosters a spirit of collaboration that strengthens both clinical practice and workplace culture. His ability to support his team while pushing forward meaningful improvements makes him a true champion of engagement.
