The Fraser Health RMH Wellbeing Champion

Fraser Health Medical Staff Recognition Program is for all FHA sites, and is a program sponsored by the VP Medicine portfolio. Recognition is seen as a key consideration that helps create a workplace where medical staff discover joy, agency, and appreciation.

The Ridge Meadows Hospital Wellbeing Champion Award honors a medical staff member who goes above and beyond to foster a culture of wellness and support. This individual actively promotes wellbeing resources, encourages participation in wellness programs, and raises awareness around occupational health and safety. They help build a stronger, more connected wellness community that empowers their colleagues to care for themselves and each other.

Previous Winners

Dr. Edward Auersperg

Dr. Edward Auersperg is recognized as this year’s Fraser Health RMH Wellbeing Champion for his ongoing commitment to fostering connection, community, and support among medical staff.

Dr. Auersperg has created spaces, both formal and informal, where colleagues can connect outside of the demands of clinical work. He regularly opens his home to host gatherings for physicians and staff, creating opportunities to build relationships, strengthen collegiality, and support a sense of belonging. More recently, he has extended this through hosting small music concerts, further contributing to a vibrant and welcoming community.

His support also extends to learners, as he has generously offered accommodation to medical students seeking a place to stay locally. In addition, his involvement in the local restaurant and business community has helped create a natural hub where colleagues can gather, connect, and unwind.

Dr. Auersperg’s passion for community, both within the hospital and in the broader downtown core, is evident in his humour, openness, generosity, and genuine interest in connecting with others. Through these efforts, he has helped strengthen a culture of wellness, connection, and mutual support across our site.

We are pleased to recognize Dr. Edward Auersperg for his meaningful contributions as a Wellbeing Champion at Ridge Meadows Hospital.
